Undurraga Brut NV Chile

Undurraga Brut NV, Chile

Tank method, p.noir dominated with chardonnay, natural mushroom cork, 12.5%, £8, Majestic Wine.

WSET style tasting note
Appearance – clear and bright, pale intensity gold, showing medium-sized bubbles and tears.

Nose – clean on the nose, with a pronounced intensity, youthful, with aromas of ripe pear, rich stone fruit – apricot, and a poorly defined tropical note.

Palate – a dry wine, with medium (+) acidity, no tannin but with a slight bitterness, medium alcohol and a medium body, with medium intensity flavours of ripe pear, apricot, peach and a hint of tropical fruit – like unripe pineapple.  A creamy mousse, aggressive in the glass, with a medium (+) persistence, and a medium (+) length, with a clean crisp, yet gummy finish – with a slight bitterness and an aftertaste note of coconut.
