Seyval blanc training and pinching out

IMG_1851      IMG_1850

Two views showing vines now supported by a tripod of chestnut stakes.

Each vine has 4-5 shoots tied-in vertically, without fruit, with the growing tip pinched out when they attain 1.8m.

In the fruiting area lower down, weaker shoots have been pruned out and sparse clusters removed.

Each retained flowering shoot has two healthy inflorescences, and is pinched out after the fourth leave after the last inflorescence.

Flowering is in full swing.
