WSET style tasting note
Appearance: clear and bright, medium intensity gold, showing tears.
Nose: clean on the nose, of pronounced intensity, fully developed, with warm moderately high-toned aromas of over-ripe guava, ripe pineapple, dried fruits, sweet tobacco and warm honey.
Palate: a sweet wine, with medium (+) acidity, the slightest gummy grip, medium (+) alcohol with a full body, a silky smooth texture, medium (+) intensity, with ripe moderately lifted flavours of over-ripe yellow peach, rich raisined fruits, pineapple, mango and pawpaw. A long length, with a clean – despite the residual sugar, lightly grippy finish, infused with rich ripe fruit flavours.
Quality: a very good quality offering, with acidity perfectly balancing the residual sugar of this richly flavoured wine. A good level of intensity, with decent complexity, dominated by ripe tropical and dried fruit notes, following through on the long length. Ready now, this wine will keep for 5-7 years, but not improve.
