WSET style tasting note
Appearance: clear and bright, pale intensity gold.
Nose: clean on the nose, medium intensity, estery aromas of polish, menthol and a hint of lime juice, then dried citrus, raisin fudge, buttery toffee, well-integrated oak; matured. Dilution with water brings out a more shoe polish/floor polish note.
Palate: dry, smooth alcohol, medium body, smooth oily texture with a sensation of sweetness on the mid-palate, pronounced intensity, with flavours of oaky-polish, raisin fudge, dark toffee, and treacle. A medium length, a clean oaky-polish and dark toffee finish, with some complexity.
Quality: Very good quality. On the nose, once one gets around the polish and lime, then rich raisin fudge and warm integrated wood are the dominant notes. A good balance of alcohol with the intensity of rich flavours, showing modest concentration of flavour, and complexity, but a long fudge and toffee length and a smooth pleasantly warming finish. The oak is slightly dominant, but does not detract.
