This wine: a grenache heavy blend (70%) with 15% each of syrah and mourvedre, natural cork closure, 14.5% abv, en France, €11

WSET style tasting note
Appearance: hazy, a dull(ish) hue of medium intensity garnet, showing tears.

Nose: unclean, oxidised, medium intensity, with a not unpleasant profile of amontillado crossed with port, specifically dried red cherries, raisins, kirsch, hazelnuts and an underlying woodiness.

Palate: dry, medium (+) acidity, medium drying tannins, medium (+) alcohol and a medium body, medium intensity, with flavours of dried red fruits, and a woody/nutty note. A medium (-) length with a bitterness on the end.

Quality: faulty.

Readiness for drinking/ageing potential: faulty.
