Consumer tasting note: a deeply golden hue, intense throughout, with a profile of rich ripe yellow peach and juice edged with lychee, then marmalade and candied pineapple, full-bodied, sweet with balancing acidity, following into a sound long length.
Drink now – RTD, but will keep – Wait. No need to decant.
WSET style tasting note
Appearance: clear and bright, deep intensity gold, showing tears.
Nose: clean, pronounced intensity, fully developed, with aromas as they come of stewed yellow peach edged with tinned lychee, a touch of rich but not dark marmalade, whiff of button mushroom, suggestion of candied pineapple.
Palate: sweet, medium (+) acidity, medium (-) alcohol, fully body, pronounced intensity, a lightly viscous texture with the slightest of grips, with flavours of concentrated yellow peach juice, papaya, touch of marmalade. A long length (> 40 s) with a clean-palate finish of stewed yellow peach, and a touch of marmalade on the end.
Quality: very good, perfectly balanced acidity with sweetness, giving a clean palate finish on swallowing; strong intensity throughout, with similar concentration, showing some complexity (there is no honeyed note, so I think that there is no botrytis involved), leading to a sound long length.
Drinking readiness/ageing potential: drink now, unsuited to further ageing, but will keep for 3-5 years – a sound structure and balance, lots of concentration, but lacks complexity.
